We Are One

Animals are another living thing that we should give importance. They’re like us. We get sick, they get sick. We get tired, they get tired too. We (people and animals) are the same. Only they can’t speak unlike us, there’s still difference over living things. But shouldn’t we have equal attention, respect and importance with each other? Animals don’t do harm in our world. They just protect themselves from us because we’re the ones who harm them. I’ve read a short article about these animals that their greatest predators - ever - would be human… us! That was a great disappointment for me. “People would do such violent things like that? Oh! A disaster is it,” I said to myself after reading the short article. Have mercy on animals! Have mercy on animals! We can’t take them back of they’re going to be extinct. Once in a lifetime… Once in a lifetime…

Our government had built parks and zoos like the one in Subic, which is Zoobic Safari, National Parks and Wildlife, and lots more. They help in protecting and saving the threatened lives of animals (they also serve as sanctuaries for animals). Also, our government establishes programs to save our natural resources (including plant and marine resources). Some kind-hearted people would surrender animals to some TV stations or directly to different departments or NGO organizations for endangered animals.

Many animals today are threatened to be extinct. In other words, they’re endangered, what should we do? We are responsible for everything around us… for every creation God has made. Even our selves are part of our responsibilities. Therefore, we’re not very responsible. Yes, we have human rights but isn’t that animals too have their rights to live? Instead of making our problems more sophisticated for our nation, why don’t we solve them? It only takes one word to solve all of them – cooperation. Under cooperation are discipline, patience, perseverance, comprehension, willingness and love.

Let’s open our minds for these problems. We caused these problems and we should be the one to solve them. Let’s love animals as part of our environment, as a part of God’s creations.

"Rights and Privileges are balanced by Duties and Responsibilities."
